The Breakfast Cub Diaries (TBCD) began as a Facebook group in 2012-16, with over 2000 members from across the globe.
The aim: take a photo of a moment during an early morning walk and share it with the world. Born out of one's desire to capture a moment and the desire of another to experience it, this independent community based arts project was created by Susan Gourley and Zoe Hudson.
The goal was to highlight the uniqueness and diversity of the human experience, as seen through the lens of personal perception using digital imagery. What became increasingly clear however, was how blessed members were to have the gift of sight to document moments in time.
Thus, the idea was born to create a book which raised over $15,300.00, with all proceeds to The Fred Hollows Foundation. That’s restoring sight to over 660 adults and children worldwide.
Presented as a photographic installation, TBCD was invited to take part in the Multi Art Festival, Kalisz, Poland in 2014, as well as exhibit at The Regional Museum in Jarocin, Poland, and Gallery WM in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2015.
